2: What is the payload?

Make sure the load capacity meets or exceeds the required payload weight.

High payload guides are subjected to significant wear and stress due to the heavy loads they handle and must therefore have a high level of durability.

3: Which drive type?

Do you need a ready-to-drive unit or components only? Drive types include screw, rack and pinion, belt driven and linear motors. Each drive type has pros and cons, giving them strengths in different areas of use.

4: What is the installation orientation?

5: What is the maximum linear speed?

What is the required speed? The guide must be able to handle the desired velocity, minimise friction, and maintain precision during rapid motion. Hepco's V-guide system can operate up to 10 m/s (36 km/h).

6: Do you have any special requirements?

Will there be extreme temperatures, moisture or exposure to corrosive agents? If so, a stainless steel linear guide may be needed. Lots of dirt and dust? You'll nedd a resilient, selfcleaning guide.
