General info about E+G HD series
The HD series from Elesa+Ganter consists of handles, levelleing feet adn indexing plungers etc. that are approved by EHEDG in Germany. EHEDG – European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group – is a non-governmental organization that develops guidelines for hygienic design.
The special blue rubber seal prevents bacteria from accumulating. The hygienic design facilitates cleaning, so that the accumulation of dirt is minimized. The elements are produced in AISI 316 and the surfaces are resistant to chemicals and can also withstand frequent washing. The series is therefore particularly suitable for places where there are strict requirements for cleaning and hygiene, such as the food or pharmaceutical industry.
See the E+G HD catalogue here.
O rings
Elesa+Ganter GN 7600 sealing rings in H-NBR or in EPDM. The rubber seal prevents bacteria from accumulating. The hygienic design facilitates cleaning, so that the accumulation of dirt is minimized.
H-NBR (hydrogenated acrylonitrile butadiene rubber):
– blue
– temperature range -25 °C til +150 °C
– FDA compliant
– Hardnesss 85 ±5 Shore A 85
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene rubber)
– blue
– temperature range -40 °C til +120 °C
– FDA compliant
– Hardness 85 ±5 Shore A 85
Please note that the GN 7600 can only be used together with other products from the HD series.
Bolts & nuts
The HD series includes a wide selection of bolts and nuts designed with the blue o-ring that prevents bacteria from accumulating. See e.g.
Levelling elements
GN 6226 Stainless steel spacers are used as a joint between two surfaces, suitable for use in hygienic areas. The spacer can be used together with sealing ring GN 7600.
Indexing plungers
Elesa+Ganter GN 8170 indexing plungers where a ring between the pin and handlebar keeps the mechanics sealed. The high surface quality and the locking mechanism minimize dirt sticking, which make cleaning easier.
The indexing plungers are available in typs FH and VH:
Type FH is for use in areas with hygiene requirements for the parts of the indexing plunger that are touched during operation.
Type VH is for use where the entire indexing plunger is subject to hygienic requirements.
The difference between the two types is that the VH type has an extra blue o-ring down by the pin that closes tightly and ensures that dirt does not get into the bolt.
Handles & knobs
Knobs and handles are typical items with a lot of contact, and thus a high risk of bacteria. The HD series also includes various types of knobs and handles.
- GN 429 U-handle
- GN 305 adjustable hand lever
- GN 5435 star knob
- GN 75.6 knob
Locking elements
The HD series also offers locking elements in a hygienic design that facilitates cleaning, so that the accumulation of dirt on the lock is minimized. FH = hygienic design on the front of the locking element. VH = hygienic design on the front and back of the locking element.
GN 1050-FH Hygienic Lock FH = hygienic design on the front of the locking element.
GN 1150-VH Hygienic Lock VH = hygienic design on the front and back of the locking element.
Other series
Elesa+Ganter has wide range of products that are suitable for use in industries with high requirements for hygiene and cleaning.
SAN series
CLEAN series
The CLEAN series are standard elements that are specially designed to meet strict hygiene requirements. The elements include handles, grips and finger knobs in the color white RAL 9002 with a glossy finish to make cleaning easier.
VD series
MD series
The MD series are standard elements in visually metal detectable material. The special technopolymer contains additives, it ensures that each fragment can be quickly identified by a standard metal detector along the production line. Furthermore, just like the VD series, the elements are produced in a blue, easily visible colour, which makes it easy to see if accidental contamination occurs in production. All this makes these elements particularly suitable for food and pharmaceutical production.
